Integrative Biology Ph.D. Candidate - Oklahoma State University

Mission Statement:

Programs such as R that involve coding often give off an intimidating air. My objective as an educator is to present introductory coding skills to novice learners in a way that makes using R feel like a worthwhile and attainable goal. My pedagogical approach is built on DEI trainings such as the Inclusive STEM Teaching Project and The Carpentries Instructor Training.

Impact:

As of March 2023, I have taught this workshop series 10 times at Oklahoma State University (both on Zoom and in person) and 1 time at the University of Central Oklahoma. I have instructed a total of 103 participants - 53 undergraduates, 42 graduate students, and 8 faculty/staff from a variety of disciplines.
